Many more modern golfers have an inclination to misalign themselves when they take their position. Usually , what they're going to do is aim way right of the target and they do this for a reason. Players who are poorly aligned from the word go and target right are customarily players who try and swing with their arms. When they do this the ball will always take off to the left. So what they are doing with this "right side" target trick is attempting to fix an issue before it even occurs!

In principle, this should not be a problem...but this isn't concept, it's golf. When an "arm swinger" forces his ball back on the golfing green by overcompensating his alignment, he suspects he is doing himself a favour. But on those occasions when he really makes a good, solid full body swing, his ball zips off into the trees on the right or into a right side bunker and he gets crazy, and what's worse is that by employing this misaligning technique he is never going to reach his actual potential as a golfer.

These players need to work on the basics of their swing, using their body as a whole and not just their arms. But they also need to know what their alignment is. So how can you (or anyone else for that matter) see what your alignment is to the target? Well, here's a simple and very effective tip to determine what your target alignment really is.

Take a stance (your usual stance), aim at a target that you would hit at, and then lay a club down on the ground from toe to toe. Now step back about 8 or 10 paces behind the ball and club that you laid down and sight down the club. Sighting down this club will reveal your alignment.

If the club is a bit left of the target, then you are fine. But if it's to the right of the target, you are out of alingment. Easy but effective. Should you find that you're out of alignment ( the club on the ground is pointing to the right of the target ) then you need to work on squaring up your position. Being square to the target is among the most vital tips in golfing. Each ball you hit will be effected by this stance--either in a good way or ( if you are in a badly aligned position ) a bad way. It truly is that easy.

Now when you are certain that you are in a square stance, hit a few balls. If the ball goes way left of the target, you know you are pulling it by trying to use too much of your arms. If the ball goes way right, you know you are allowing your body to slide too much through impact. By being in a square stance and evaluating a few practice shots, you can determine a lot about your swing and those areas that you need to work on.

Why should anybody spend their time on golf chipping drills? I've got a $400 driver and 2 new hybrids. Let's head to the range.

Does that sound familiar?

Have you ever before saw a player that was skillful who does not score very effectively? He's the guy who says "you know, I hit the ball pretty well today, but I just couldn't score." Have you ever seen a weaker player who's always in the hole? He's the guy who looks like he's out of it, then scrambles around and makes a par or bogey and somehow avoids disaster.

My guess is that the great golfer has a terrible short game and the weaker player may chip and putt with the best of them. It does not make a whole lot of sense that a skillful player ought to be terrible around the green, or that a weak player should get better the closer he gets to the putting surface. But that's the case many, many times over.

Why is that? I really think it occurs since the short game is completely different from the full swing game. With the full swing, we have basically the same swing style and mechanics from the driver down through the full wedge. The swing looks pretty much the same with all of those clubs. But the short game is a whole different animal. It needs various skills and methods than the full golf swing.

Take chipping, for instance. This is always a short shot, but there are lots of variables that can make the chip complicated. Like deep rough around the green, thin lies in shaved chipping areas, or steep slopes and drop-offs. To make things even more complex, we posses plenty of chipping clubs at our disposal, everything dealing with five irons to lob wedge. Maybe we can't become a great all-around golfer, but possibly we can become a great chipper. If so, it's conceivable that we might see a reduction of 10+ strokes per round.

Do you think you need instruction for your golf swing? Most amateur golfers have subpar swing mechanics, plenty of swing flaws, and could greatly benefit from the use of an instructor for their swing.

Do you think you need instruction for your golf swing? Most amateur golfers have subpar swing mechanics, plenty of swing flaws, and could greatly benefit from the use of an instructor for their swing.

There are a lot of different types of instruction you may use. You can get it out of golf magazines; on the Golf Channel; in golf books, and also dvds. It all depends on your choice of learning. A lot of golf players may plug in a golf instruction DVD and be okay. Others need that one-on-one experience.

Golf swing instruction must cover the fundamentals, swing flaws and drills to correct them. Keeping it simple is the best approach. I'm a firm believer in the KISS principle, and golfers should be too. Everyone makes the golf swing too hard, and make it much harder on ourselves to improve. But I guess that keeps all the golf instructors employed !

I really believe that plenty of amateur golf players can benefit from an effective teacher. Again...I say credible. By that...I mean a certified (preferably PGA certified) instructor, who has been making his/her living for at least 5 years in the field. That way you are guaranteed to get someone who has a basic idea of fundamentals and addressing swing flaws.

Golf instruction specific to YOUR golf swing should diagnose YOUR swing faults and get YOU drills to cure them. That's plain and simple! Nothing more complicated is needed. If an instructor says, they are going to "redo" your swing...Run!! No golfer has to fully redo their golf swing unless they are a total novice who has no clue of the right mechanics for their golf swing.

Stay focused on "your needs" when talking to an instructor. Do not let them get astray from your needs for hiring them in the first place. With that being said, golf swing instruction will certainly help your swing.

Do you typically lose your balance when it comes to your swing of the golf club? If you do, here's what you can do about it.

Do you typically lose your balance when it comes to your swing of the golf club? If you do, here's what you can do about it.

First of all, you need to understand that the way you setup to the golf ball dictates to a large degree the balance that you'll have during your golf swing. Well, here is how to obtain a balanced posture position to start your golf swing.

1st.

Stand up straight with your feet about shoulder width apart, then

2nd.

Take the straightness out of your knees, then...

3rd.

Place a club along your spine, and then

4th.

Bend forward making sure that your spine remains straight. It is extremely essential once doing this golf swing drill that your backside moves back since this helps to make a balanced golf posture position. You want your weight to be on the balls of your feet when you're setup and it won't be unless you follow the steps I've suggested.

And finally.....

5th.

Once you've bent over (by moving your backside back and keeping your back straight) the next step is to move your left hip (right hip for lefties) slightly towards your target. As soon as you do this it will automatically place your head behind the ball, which is exactly what you want it to do.

When you're in this golf position you may position a club on the floor in a posture to hit a ball, and you probably will have to either bend over more or stand up straighter depending on what club you are using. For example, when you're using a wedge you'll have to bend over more than you would for a driver because a wedge is quite a bit shorter than a driver is.

Then when you have performed this exercise and you are set up then get an individual to lightly push on both shoulders from behind and in front. Because doing this will help you to set your weight to the insides of both feet which is where the weight should be. Then get your partner to push lightly on your back and if you fall over it's because your weight is too far forward, so set your weight more back on the balls of your feet.

Once you are in balance you will find that once a person gives yo a little push you will be steady as a rock, and this should be your aim. So do the posture exercise and test yourself until you pass. When you do, your balance will be a lot better during your golf swing.

Cut 7-12 strokes off the handicap- this will change your golf game plan. Improving your strokes will assist in lessening losing strokes due to slicing, hooking or topping the golf ball. We all strive towards developing a perfect golf swing.

Distance and consistency in hitting the ball are very important. As you well know this improvement will take you beyond being an average golfer and put a confident smile on your face and carry yourself with pride in a game will done.

Make your full swing better by enhancing your stance and posture. Here is a personal checklist to help you review your body positioning and correct your weaknesses. I'm certain that you have found that for every weakness that may be corrected you'll have an added strength.

It can't be stressed enough how much your golfing game will get better as every weakness is made better,. Here is a checklist:

* Head position

* Shoulder turn

* Hip movement

* Hand,wrist and forearm strength

* Body strength

* Body flexibility

* Rhythm and tension in the follow through. This helps to control the golf swing.

* Mental attitude equals an effective positive attitude towards power stokes.

* Correct spinal alignment

* Flex your knees, bend from hips with a straight back.

* Waddle into comfort stance to produce accurate hitting of the golf ball.

By enhancing your shortcomings the golf swing can get much better and will send the golf ball off longer and much straighter. Often times we shortchange ourselves by thinking that we are doing our best; however, one tiny little change can make a big difference. And that big difference can boost our golf score.

As you know, as soon as you begin to develop a better golf swing that gives you the results you really want, practice it in order to continue duplicating the excellent outcome.

It is also wise that if the golf course offers a professional golf instructor to assist with improving your golf swing. Get a hold of that tutor to watch your stroke and take his recommendation. Gain positive analysis from your professional golf instructor to better your game.

Professional golf players have teachers and continue to make use of golf lessons. Professional golfers maintain their practice drill sessions faithfully.

Do not look at your golf drills as drudgery. These are the stepping stones to be able to have some fund and really enjoy the game of golf. True, at times you will be frustrated, but when you master your golf swing, it is great!

To find out how to better your swing fast and easily Click Here.

When out on the golf course it is very important to try and stay cool in more ways than one. It is important that you protect yourself from the hot midday sun whether it is a round at your local course or when away abroad for your golfing holiday. It is important to remember that you can spend four or more hours walking round during the hottest part of the day so it is crucial that you protect yourself from the sun. Below are a few hints and ideas to keep cooler when out on the golf course.

The body naturally cools itself by sweating, the process of your sweat evaporating from your skin naturally cools your body to regulate your temperature. It is therefore best to make sure any clothing you wear is loose and if possible made from a material that can allow your sweat to escape through the material moving it away from your body to cool you. Many modern day materials are made from polyester fabrics that have special coatings and meshes that allow sweat to escape and keep you cool while still giving you the freedom to make your swing. Also recently there has been an increase in the use of undergarments such as pants, shorts, and long sleeved shirts that help to take moisture away from your skin. These are also good at keeping the direct sun off your arms and legs to prevent sun burn.

Hats are great to keep the sun off your head but can become a little bit hot underneath them. Try wearing a visor which will allow some heat to escape while keeping the sun off your face, however make sure to use plenty of sunscreen on the top of your head. Alternatively wear a wide brimmed hat that will keep the sun off your neck as well as your face. Again pick material that will allow heat and sweat to escape from your head to help keep you cool.

The weather can be very unpredictable, one minute you will be out in scorching sunshine, the next it will be pouring down with rain. Unless you plan on being away playing golf in Turkey, it is important to be prepared for weather like this. An umbrella is useful as not only can it protect from the rain but it can also help shade you from the sun. If you can take a lightweight jacket out with you in case of showers but make sure it will keep you cooler than a heavy jacket. The extra humidity created by any showers will also make it harder for your sweat to evaporate and cool you so try and get jackets made of similar materials to your shirt that will help transfer moisture away from you.

Make sure to apply plenty of sunscreen before your round and re-apply at regular intervals, as sweat will wash the cream off your skin making it less protective. Using factor 30 or higher will ensure that you are protected from the sun's harmful rays during the whole of your round.

A good idea to keep you cool is to soak a towel the night before and place it in the freezer overnight. You can then take the frozen towel out with you to dampen your face and arms to keep you extra cool. Soak your hat as well to keep your head cool during the hottest periods. Perhaps try freezing a half full bottle of water overnight and topping this up before your round to have an ice cold drink to keep you cool.

Studies have shown that minor loss of fluids can affect concentration and performance levels so make sure to keep drinking plenty of water during your round. Make use of any water fountains or course marshals selling water to top up regularly. If you can manage it then take out a couple of litres of water to sip on your way round and perhaps even pack an isotonic drink to help replace salts and minerals that you will lose as you sweat. Avoid alcohol as this is a diuretic that will actually make you go to the toilet more and so loose more fluids. Also try to avoid fizzy, sugary drinks as these to will cause fluid loss.

If you are lucky enough to be golfing in foreign hotter climes, then try to arrange tee times that avoid the hottest part of the day between twelve and two. Resorts often offer the use of buggies which can help to reduce the amount you are carrying and how far you walk so helping to keep you cool. They can also be good in that you can use them for shade from the sun but otherwise try to find the shade when you can, perhaps take advantage of that wild slice by visiting the trees for some deserved rest in the shade!

If possible try and cover up as much as possible to keep the harmful UV rays off your skin. There is a wide range of under garments that can be used to keep moisture away from your skin allowing you to sweat and keep cool, but also protecting your arms from the sun. If you don't want to wear these then look for loose clothing that can allow cooling breezes to get inside and keep your temperature down. The modern day fabrics that are used in golf shirts allows for moisture to be transported away from your body using your own in-built cooling mechanism, sweating, to be as effective as possible. You body naturally sweats, which then evaporates taking heat away from your skin in the process, so having clothing that allows this to happen will make sure you are cool.

If you can afford to be playing golf Turkey then you wouldn't be too worried about rain, but in our climate you have to make sure you are prepared for the odd sharp shower. One minute you might be strolling down the fairway in the baking sunshine, the next you might be running for cover from the rain. An umbrella is useful to carry with you as it will not only protect from these showers but you can also use it to shade yourself from the sun. The extra humidity that happens after rain showers have passed can make it hard for your body to cool itself as sweat won't evaporate as well in humid conditions. It is therefore important to make sure that any rain jackets are lightweight and made of a good quality breathable material like your shirts to allow moisture to be moved away from your skin and keep you as cool as possible.

Always wear plenty of sunscreen preferably of factor 30 or higher. You will be out for long periods in the sun so it is important to have high protection to filter out as much of the harmful rays as possible. Also re-apply the sunscreen two or three times during the round to make sure that your sweat has not washed away any of its protective value.

One good tip is to place a damp towel and a half filled bottle of water in the freezer the night before your round. If you then fill the bottle completely before you play you will have a cold drink to sip all day long as the ice slowly melts. The damp towel will also stay cool for a while meaning you have something to wipe your head and neck to try and keep extra cool. If you wet your hat this will also evaporate and help keep you head cool as well.

Drink plenty of fluids to keep you hydrated. Studies have shown that even a minor loss of fluids can cause significant drops in concentration levels which are very important for keeping you going on the golf course. Try and take a couple of litres of water with you if you can carry that much and make sure to take regular sips to keep your fluid levels up. If you can't carry much water make sure you know where there are taps and water fountains on the course and top up you and your water bottles on a regular basis. If there are course marshals around on the course selling water then stock up with extra fluid when you can. Avoid sugary or fizzy drinks and especially alcohol, as these will not hydrate you as well as water or isotonic drinks. Isotonic drinks can help replace essential minerals and salts you will lose as you sweat.

Buggies can be useful in helping to reduce the amount you have to walk and by reducing the amount you carry. They can also be used for shade from the hot sun, try to avoid tee times during the hottest part of the day between 12 and 2. Foreign golf resorts will often have lots of buggies available so make sure to take advantage of them when possible. If you are in a hot country on holiday then take advantage of any wild tee shots to visit the shade of the trees while looking for your ball!

One of the first things that you should consider when booking a golf holiday is who, if anyone, you will go with. If you are going with a group then a great deal more planning is needed, whereas if you are going alone, things can get a great deal simpler. Making the reservations is easier the fewer people you go with but this does not make much difference if you decide to go through a travel agency which will do all of the hard work for you.

You will also want to think carefully about your budget. If you are going on a golf resort vacation, the convenience factor is definitely higher, but it will often be a lot more expensive than staying in accommodation off the golf resort. Though golf resorts are rarely cheap, you may be able to take advantage of a special offer if you do your research carefully. Some packages include more than others and this is also something that your travel agency can help you with.

Booking the perfect golf holiday also depends on how much of an enthusiast you are. If you are a true enthusiast, then you will most likely be interested only in using the very best golf course. In such cases, food and accommodation will take second priority and you will likely be far better off either going alone or with fellow enthusiasts than family or others who are not so enthusiastic about golf.

When you have shortlisted the best golf resorts, you should contact each one to find out further details about tee times, booking procedures and transport amongst others. You should familiarize yourself with exactly what is included in the package and what is not. This way you should be able to stop yourself from going over budget. Go prepared as well, making sure that you get the equipment you need far in advance to save missing out on anything.

For those planning to travel with others who do not care for golf so much, it is also important to take them into consideration. Location, in this case, is particularly important. You will need to find a resort where there are plenty of other entertainment options and tourist activities as well. This way, you can enjoy your passion without having to be concerned about those traveling with you.

The position of your arms and how you grip the putter are fundamental to the putting stroke. We're going to focus on putting grip pressure and arm position in these putting tips.

Why the Y?

Grab your putter and find a mirror. Get into your normal putting stance and take a look in the mirror. Your arms should form what looks like the top of the Y and the putter shaft will be the stem of the Y.

Let your arm hang naturally and loose. They should be close to straight; neither pinched in or bowed out. Allowing your arms to hang loosely takes the tension out. Tension in the arms will cause problems with the stroke. You will also assume the same position every time when your arms hang loose removing variation from using different positions.

Please Be Gentle

Now, on to the putting grip. Two points will be considered:

1. Consistency - Use the same grip every time in the same way

2. Grip pressure

What's your putting grip style? It doesn't matter as long as it's comfortable and relaxed and you strike the ball squarely with the putter head. You'll see lots of different styles on the course, practice greens and among the pros. It doesn't matter. I use a traditional grip with my thumbs pointing straight down the shaft. Your grip style is probably different. It doesn't matter as long as you take the same grip every time.

What does toothpaste have to do with golf? Lots. Have you seen golfers holding their clubs and the putter with a death grip. Their forearm muscles are popping and you can see the veins in their arms. They are gripping the putter way too hard. Think of the pressure needed to squeeze a tube of toothpaste. That's about how you should be squeezing the grip of the putter.

A relaxed smooth putting stroke requires a light grip pressure. Take your putter. Get in your stance and grip it. Grip it hard so that your hands and forearms become tight. Feel the tightness up into the shoulders and back. This grip will cause erratic movements in your stroke. Erratic movement results in erratic putting.

Now grip the putter just a little harder than it takes to hold on to it. Take your stroke and feel the difference. The tension should be gone from the hands, arms and shoulders and the rest of the body. You can stroke the ball smoothly and freely.

Summary

If you make a Y with your putter and arms and take a grip that keeps the tension out of your hands, arms, shoulder and upper body, you are in a position to take a smooth consistent putting stroke. Squeeze and then relax is a good putting key.

Practice and putting drills are not most golfer's favorite things to do. It's a lot more fun hitting the course and playing. That's why these putting tips are really good. You can do adopt the Y and the soft grip in the comfort of your home or office. Then when you get to the course, take a few minutes on the practice green to drive it home. You will need to practice enough for muscle memory to take over, so taking the tips and working on them for a few minutes every day can work wonders.

When a beginning golfer undertakes learning the game, the importance of following "Golf Tips for Beginners" will become evident. It's the optimal way to approach this game since it requires calculating and analyzing. If a novice player follows tips, he or she will soon be an excellent player. Read the tips and advice, learn them and then start playing. Discipline is key to gaining control over the ball and moving it into the cup. Posture and swing must be practiced over and over. This beginning introduction into the game relies on "Golf Tips for Beginners." The first tip given tells that players have to remain balanced when approaching the ball.

It is very important to keep a right posture as the first step to maintain balance. An upright position to play shot determines the correct flow and speed of the ball. The ball can go into the right direction if the posture is maintained as per the basics of the game. The second tip states that user must choose the right golf equipment. It is better to start with a rented equipment to avoid huge costs. Many agencies provide free equipments also, which helps you to judge your skills. Later, you can buy the equipments once you are comfortable with the game.

It is very important to maintain right power. It is one of the significant Golf Tips for Beginners. It is very important to maintain power behind the shot. Players need to maintain the right angle to complete a powerful shot. The direction of the winds and movement of the arms are equally important while driving the shot. The head should be steady and shot must be made with positive mind set. It is vital to maintain optimism because the few shots in the beginning may not pay huge rewards. However, with experience and practice, you can easily master to bring power into the shots.

Analyze the ball just before taking your shot. Concentration is key to success. Swing the club in the optimal way to generate the most speed possible. Your swing is crucial in sending your shot in the right direction. Again, practice, practice, practice. It's the only way to improve your game. There are two kinds of sweeps that follow a golf swing. Horizontal is one and the other is, as you would guess, vertical. They are basic to the game of golf.

As mentioned earlier, swing is one of the important Golf Tips for Beginners; players must know the technicalities of both types of swings. First, horizontal swing can be completed by twisting the body while the vertical sweep is completed by lifting the club over the right arm shoulder. However, player must gauge his body condition before applying any sweep as both are effective and can garner good results. It is highly important to maintain the right posture and learn different types of golf shot after covering all the above basics. First, the cleek shot can be mastered followed by Mid-Iron, Jigger and Niblick under the guidance of a professional trainer.
